Think about your dad

He's a great parent. He's really proud of you and genuinely cares about you. He celebrates your second and third place trophies as much as first place ones and is proud of you for them. He wants you to be healthy and happy. You have, like, two memories of him ever raising his voice to you, and he's apologized for both. He seems genuinely happy to get to be your father.

He's the reason you wear sunglasses indoors and at night. You think it helps him feel better about how his eyes are too sensitive to light. You don't know how to feel about the fact that you do this.

If this is a ploy to manipulate you, it's working spectacularly.
